Amie Bettencourt

Amie Bettencourt has been a vital member of the CPP team since 2014. As a clinical child psychologist and researcher at Johns Hopkins University, Bettencourt’s work focuses on identifying risk and protective factors associated with the development of disruptive behavior problems. Her research centers on seamlessly integrating evidence-based interventions into early education, public school, and primary care settings to prevent and treat mental health issues. Bettencourt’s clinical experience lies in preventing and treating disruptive behavior problems in young children, ages 2–8 years old. She places special emphasis on utilizing group-based and individually administered parenting interventions to strengthen parent-child relationships, foster children’s healthy development, empower parents to set limits on their children’s misbehavior, and manage their own stress. Bettencourt oversees implementation and national expansion of the CPP training workshops.
